Why did you start your apprenticeship with Komatsu?

I started my apprenticeship with Komatsu because the company sets you up for success. They will do anything in their power to make sure you finish your apprenticeship and become a fully qualified tradesperson. Komatsu’s people are also a big reason why I chose this company. Every employee I’ve met before have had nothing but positive things to say about the company and the people.

What do you enjoy most about your job?

After working for the company for just over a month I love the atmosphere, everyone’s having fun but they’re working, I love how the trade itself makes you think. Not every machine has the correct schematics so it makes you think and make decisions.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, especially outdoors. Whether I’m fishing with dad or at the beach reading with mum or watching a movie with my friends. If I’m surrounded by the people I love I’m having a good time. Outside of that time, I love to read. I’m a massive bookworm and I thank my mum for that. I love to fish, land or sea, and I love taking my dog to the beach or for a walk.

What would you say to someone considering an apprenticeship?

Starting an apprenticeship with Komatsu was the best decision I have made in my adult life. I know I won’t regret it and I can’t wait to progress through the company.
