Position: Permanent Part-time, Weekday
Location: Chatswood
Salary: $28.94 – $34.76 per hour
About the Opportunity
You’ll help seniors stay socially connected and engaged in activities and experiences while attending our Day Centre in Chatswood. You’ll provide essential support that enhances well-being, promotes happiness, and impacts their quality of life.
What you will be doing in this role
- Assist in the development, planning and running of a range of social and recreational activities for clients
- Facilitate cultural activities and special events
- Provide physical, personal and social support to clients as needed
- Monitor and document the client’s progress
- Assist in the day-to-day running of all aspects of the Centre, including excursions and the transport of clients
- Assist clients in and out of their homes and on/off vehicle into the centre or other destinations as necessary
- Where required, drive the Facility Bus and the Facility Commuter Vehicle
Who we are looking for
- Previous experience in aged or community care.
- Experience or an interest in Senior’s leisure and lifestyle
- Pro-active and energetic self-starter with a strong customer service focus and computer competence
- Background supporting clients experiencing cognitive decline
- Empathetic, creative and resourceful, embodying Uniting’s values of compassion, respect, imagination, and boldness.
- A provisional or full Australian driving license
- Certificate III/IV in Aged Care, Individual Support, or equivalent qualification.
