This is a full-time contract opportunity until June 2025 (with likely extension) and will be based at Chatswood with some outreach work involved and flexibility to WFH 1 day/ week
As a Senior Clinician with the Uniting Adult Mental Health team, you will work closely with adults aged 18 and over who are living in the North Sydney area and are not currently engaged in an LHD service. You will be part of a dedicated multidisciplinary team, which includes a psychiatrist overseeing the work, participate in weekly case review meetings, and working towards achieving practical and durable goals for clients.
About the Program
The Uniting Adult Mental Health program is designed to support clients for up to 12 months. The program primarily receives referrals from GPs and focuses on providing primary mental health care, medication management, and therapeutic interventions. As a Clinician, you will work closely with GPs, ensuring that clients’ care plans are effectively implemented and that discharge planning is handled smoothly, whether that involves returning the client to their GP’s care or transitioning them to another service.
About You in the Role
In this role, you will bring your clinical knowledge in mental health, particularly in risk assessment, mental state examination, and bio-psycho-social assessment. You will also have experience in providing therapeutic interventions such as CBT. Your ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, alongside ongoing support from the Team Leader and monthly online clinical supervision, will be crucial to your success.
About You
- Qualified or near qualified Social Worker, Psychologist, Registered Nurse or Occupational Therapist
- Registration with APRAH or eligible for or a member of AASW
- A strong understanding of risk assessment and management, mental state examination, and bio-psycho-social assessment.
- Experience in delivering psychological interventions, particularly Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).
