  • $36 – $54.59 per hour  (depending on qualifications and experience) + super + RDO + tax benefits
  • Working in the Preschool Room
  • Monday – Friday, 8hr rotating roster.

About the Opportunity
As an Early Childhood Teacher, you will contribute to the planning, implementation, evaluation and reflection of the educational program for the children. You’ll also provide quality education and care to children to help support and facilitate their learning outcomes in accordance with the National Quality Standards and learning framework! 

As part of the new inclusive campus community at Uniting Westmead Early Learning, our long day care centre offers unique learning opportunities, with 75 places for children from 6 weeks to 5 years old, a fire pit, chickens, large free flowing learning spaces which bring the indoors outdoors. Uniting Westmead Campus comprises of an Early Learning Centre, Residential Aged Care, Retirement living, Seniors Gym and a café open to the public. This provides opportunities to participate in Intergenerational programs as well as connecting with the local community.

 

Your work may include:

  • Contribute to the development of programs which reflect the approved learning framework.
  • Developing positive and respectful relationships that support children, their families and community.
  • Facilitating play-based learning environments that are responsive to children’s interest, strengths, and abilities.
  • You’ll guide and support educators to implement the program and philosophy for the children.
  • Participate in ongoing excursions in the community!

Who we’re looking for

  • Bachelor Teaching / Early Childhood Education
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience working as an ECT 
  • Possibility of shared Educational Lead role, depending on experience.
  • A work history that demonstrates recording observations, writing learning stories and supporting the planning of a successful curriculum using the Early Years Learning Framework.
  • Understand the National Quality Framework and EYLF
  • Have the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, families and community members
  • You’ll be adaptable, empathetic and resourceful, and be able to live Uniting’s everyday values of being compassionate, respectful, imaginative, and bold.
