Services are comprised of 24-hour inpatient care, Monday to Friday outpatient departments, iREAP Day Rehabilitation program, several specialist community teams inclusive of Transitional Aged Care, Aged Care Assessment Team, Geriatric Flying Squad, Young Onset Dementia, and day centre program, 24-hour accommodation service for regional guests and the full range of hospital support services. The Quality and Governance Manager (QGM) at WMH is responsible for the administration, drive and oversight of Quality and Governance processes for the hospital, including leading and promoting a culture of patient safety, consumer centredness and continuous quality improvement.
This role ensures organisational compliance with National Safety & Quality Health Service (NSQHS) standards, through embedded practices and forums that meet the required standards on an ongoing basis, whilst also addressing any areas for improvement. The WMH QGM manages consumer feedback and engagement, alongside oversight of incident and complaints handling. There is direct engagement with all levels of WMH workforce including clinical, corporate and support services.
This role maintains an overarching governance of auditing, reporting and benchmarking enabling the interpretation of data for best and next practice. This role is well supported by a direct network with the SESLHD Clinical Governance Unit and Uniting Quality & Risk personnel.
The QGM sits as part of the WMH Executive and represents on internal and external committees. The position is responsible for the reporting of Quality and Governance information to the WMH Board of Directors via Executive Management.
This position is full time permanent role.

Selection Criteria:
- Holds a current relevant tertiary qualification in Nursing or Allied Health profession and corresponding registration with minimum 5 years’ experience
- Post graduate tertiary qualification in Quality Services/Leadership/Management or other relevant qualification or working towards same
- Demonstrated knowledge, experience and leadership in embedding and maintaining quality accreditation processes aligned with the National Safety & Quality Health Service Standards at senior organisational level
- Knowledge and experience in driving an organisational quality culture, utilising quality improvement principles and project management frameworks
- Sound knowledge and experience of incident management and complaints handling processes with effective open disclosure and reflective practice principles
- Advanced high level oral, written, interpersonal and presentation skills across a broad range of disciplines, forums and healthcare consumers
- Demonstrated ability to deliver education and training utilising adult education principles
- High level of competency pertaining to data recording, reporting, analysis and presentation utilising MS Office suite and other relevant IT programs
All Category A NSW Health workers are required to have received an annual seasonal Influenza vaccination or have an approved medical contraindication certificate. COVID-19 vaccinations are strongly recommended for all NSW Health workers.
