This is a permanent part-time opportunity working 28 hours /week and will be based at Newpin in Bidwill
– flexibility to work 28 hours/ week across 4 or 5 consecutive days
We are looking for an innovative capable Play facilitator to join our Newpin team in Bidwill. You will provide therapeutic play opportunities in a group setting to support families in their journey towards restoration. Working in the Newpin playroom alongside our playroom team you will support parents and children to develop healthy attachments, provide opportunities to build on emotional and social development, support parents to guide behaviours and self-regulation.

The Newpin program specialises in supporting parents to work towards having their children safely returned to their care.
About you in the role
- Facilitate therapeutic play sessions for parents and children (0-5 years)
- Support the development of positive parent-child relationships
- Provide strategies to guide children’s behaviour and help with self-regulation
- Implement trauma-informed practices in a safe and nurturing environment
- Collaborate with the team to create stimulating, educational play programs
About You
- Tertiary qualification (minimum Diploma) in a relevant field with experience working with children (0-5 years)
- Strong understanding of trauma-informed practice and attachment theory
- Experience in developing therapeutic relationships and managing challenging behaviours
- Ability to support parents in developing positive parenting skills
Appropriate cultural knowledge and understanding of First Nations history, challenges and protocols is important to deliver effectively in this role. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are encouraged to apply.
