Apprenticeships and Traineeships

Your career can get the kickstart it needs with JBS Australia. We offer a range of nationally recognised and certified traineeships which are fully paid qualifications delivered while you work. Our trades-based apprenticeships (such as electrical, mechanical, butchery, and plumbing) are designed to support you in the development of a broad range of skills whilst achieving a nationally recognised trade qualification.

Our apprenticeships usually last three to four years, whereas our traineeships will continue for approximately twelve months.

Cadetships

Our cadetships are geared to committed, hard-working and determined people. To develop the skills required for the unique roles in our business, you will be rotated through different job functions and leadership. Our cadetships offer unique opportunities to gain work experience that may not usually be offered at other employers in areas such as International or Domestic Sales, Livestock Acquisition, and Logistics, to name a few.

Graduate Programs

We offer a small number of graduate opportunities each year to address the professional targeted needs such as electrical and mechanical engineers.  Additionally, there are graduate opportunities within People and Culture (Human Resources), Legal and Finance.

As a participant in our graduate programs, you will undertake further training and relocate across varied and regional locations. The skills and experience gained will build an excellent foundation for your future career.

Leadership Programs

Our leaders drive the performance and culture of our organisation. Our suite of global in-house leadership development partnering with programs world, which includes class universities, enables us to tailor very specific programs which draw on our leader’s experience to them grow with their careers.

JBS Australia

Northern Operations

JBS Australia’s Northern Division operates five strategically placed processing facilities as well as five feedlots across Queensland and New South Wales with access to an extensive network of quality cattle. The Division comprises a diverse and impressive range of beef brands, including a number of award-winning brands, such as Yardstick, Riverina Black Angus and Thousand Guineas.

Southern Operations

JBS Australia’s Southern Division produces a range of high-quality beef and lamb products. The division operates four beef and lamb processing facilities and one feedlot across New South Wales, Victoria, Tasmania and South Australia. The Great Southern brand is home to our flagship grass-fed beef and lamb programs. These brands are underpinned by the JBS Farm Assurance Program, which is compliant with the global standard for third party certification. Our value-added business, which produces a variety of retail ready products in a range of formats, is tailored to individual customer requirements.

Primo Foods

Primo Foods is Australia’s largest manufacturer of ham, bacon, salami, and deli meats, supplying quality smallgoods to major retail and food service groups across Australia.

Huon Aquaculture

Based in Tasmania, Huon Aquaculture is Australia’s second largest producer of Atlantic Salmon and also farms and processes Rainbow Trout. Huon Aquaculture is a leader in the Tasmanian marine farming industry with a focus on sustainable, high-quality products and innovative, world-leading aquaculture practices.

D.R. Johnston

D.R. Johnston is JBS Australia’s domestic wholesale division. Its core business is distributing fresh and frozen carton meat to butcher shops, independent supermarkets and food service businesses Australia wide. It also operates retail outlets.

Andrews Meat Industries

Andrews Meat Industries (AMI) is one of Australia’s longest serving and most respected suppliers of protein-based solutions across three key divisions: foodservice, value added (cooked), and export.

Swift & Company Trade Group

The international trading division of JBS Australia, we source a full range of meat proteins and offal products, as well as by-products globally from JBS operations and independent suppliers.

JBS Carriers

The transportation division of JBS Australia, supporting operations through an efficient logistical structure, transporting cattle, shipping containers, bulk products in tippers, and palletised refrigerated products. Our fleet includes 42 prime movers and more than 100 trailers that travel a combined 7 million kilometres per year.

Pork Division

For more than 22 years, JBS Australia has been supplying Australians with high quality pork, including value-added pork products. Under the Rivalea Australia, Diamond Valley Pork (DVP) and Seven Point Pork (SPP) brands, all pork is bred, grown and finished in Australia.
Rivalea is a leading integrated Australian agri-food company based in the Riverina region of New South Wales. Rivalea has extensive agricultural, processing and marketing interests that support high quality pork production for Australian and export markets.
